Maybe you know, maybe you don’t, but there’s a dearth of social media meet up groups in St. Paul.
I know what you’re probably thinking: Meghan, it’s only a hop and a skip to MPLS. And it’s true, and I do attend (or do my best) to make it to JMU612, MIMA events, etc. And St. Paul does have the Social Media Breakfast (aka smbmsp) and there’s also the St. Paul TweetUp, which serve different purposes.
But there’s a niche to be explored targeting social media for small businesses that’s both networking and sharing best practices. Many of the topics and speakers at the other events have far more resources than many small businesses, on top of a more granular understanding. And it would be nice to consider alternating morning and evening timeframes to engage more people by accommodating different schedules.
So to what does all this add up? Here’s the secret: JavaSTP. We’ve not officially rolled it out yet (hence the shhhh), but get excited!
